Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lip Lacquers

I've talked about these before on my blog but I love them so much that I decided they need a whole post of their own as they're just too damn good!  I have three shades but I'll definitely be picking up more soon.  These are a lip lacquer but they are different to anything I've seen on the market lately as they have an odd consistency, it's almost gel like but once it sets, it sets.  It does take a couple of layers to get the opacity that I like but you don't have to build it up anywhere near as much as I do but I like my lips to be full, matte and not going anywhere.  I advise making sure your lips are not chapped and using a lip liner beforehand so it's easier to fill in as I said, they are a weird texture so they could take some getting used to.  They last all day for me if I've taken the time to apply it properly (which can be quite time consuming) but after that it lasts the whole day, through eating and drinking and I can even kiss my boyfriend with them on without any transfer so he's a big fan as he hates it when I cover him in lipstick when we're out!

The first colour I bought is 'Hot Pepper' which is this true red shade, it's quite a neutral red so not too blue toned and not too orange toned - perfect for all skin tones!  I'm a bold lip kinda gal and this range has mostly bold colours which I love and this shade is my go to red when I'm going out for a long time or when I'm wanting a red lip for going out at night.

The second shade I bought is 'Ole Flamingo!' which is super bright blue toned pink which I love as it makes your teeth look hella white and it's still on the red side so if pinks suit you more but you want a classic lip, this would be great for you!  This is the only pink lip product I've bought that I actually wear as I'm just not a pink lipstick kinda girl but this is bright enough that I absolutely love it.

The last colour I have is 'Happy Nude Year' and I think this is one of their newer shades which I picked up as I couldn't get a hold of MAC Velvet Teddy and I've been itching for that nude lip hype.  I'm not really a nude lip kinda girl but I really like this, it's more on the pink side so it doesn't completely wash me out which I like.  It's not my favourite but I like it for when I'm feeling a nude lip.

Overall I think these are amazing, they are £9 though which is quite a lot for a drug store lip product (for me anyway) but you can usually find these on sale on Very and Asos which is handy.  They are nothing like anything I've ever tried and I've tried quite a lot of these liquid lipsticks/lip lacquers that are going about these days and these are by far my favourite.  Matte but not chalky and don't built up or make your lips look nasty.
