1 Year Anniversary | Opium, CitizenM & Gifts

It was Luke and I's 1 year anniversary on Saturday so I thought I'd share what we did for it and what he got me! We went out on the Friday instead of the Saturday as the hotel was ridiculously cheaper on the Friday which worked for us but we stayed in the CitizenM Hotel in Glasgow, our 3rd time staying there, as we love this hotel and it's pretty much everything you could ask for in a hotel when you're with your partner.  I forgot to take many pictures of the hotel but the website has tonnes of pictures and they're true to what it actually looks like inside! For dinner we went to an Asian Fusion restaurant called Opium and it was seriously one of the nicest meals I've ever eaten.

Salt & Pepper Chili Ribs which were amazing, seriously the best ribs I've ever eaten.
Salt & Pepper Tofu which Luke said was amazing, the best tofu he'd tried.

Free Prawn Crackers which were amazing and spicy too.

For main I had Satay on skewers with rice which was lovely, the rice was so soft and the satay soft was so creamy.

For Luke's main he had a mushroom curry thing with noodles which he said was amazing.

For my dessert I had a deep fried ice cream coconut ball which was insane.

And for Luke's dessert he had banana fritters with ice cream.

Parma Violet Cocktail - if you like parma violets then you NEED to try this.

Mandarin Mojito which was okay, a little too tart for me.

Overall, Opium was amazing.  We'd never been there before so we were nervous that we weren't going to like it but we honestly couldn't have asked for a nicer place.  The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely too, had nice relaxing swing type music and when we were there it was snowing so heavy outside so it felt to cosy.  I would 100% recommend Opium, it was very expensive but totally worth it, maybe for a special occasion.

The CitizenM is a pricey hotel don't get me wrong but it's really lovely.  There's a HUGE bed which takes up about 50% of the room which is great, there's a waterfall shower which changes colour and there's lots of movies on the t.v, what more could you ask for?!

I was hesitant to show gifts as they're kind of a personal thing but Luke done gooood on the gift front so I just had to share! My main present was an Olivia Burton Watch which is so so so beautiful and you can find Olivia Burton watches on Asos if you're interested.  He also got me a Twinkie as I was moaning that I'd never tried them so that was silly of him to get me one!  He also got me a back up of my favourite soap from Lush which is The Godmother, smell it.  Just go and smell it.  It smells bloody amazing.  And last but not least he got me the cutest little Cactus Embroidery which is so bloody adorable and it looks amazing hanging on my wall (bought from this sell on etsy).

I hope you enjoyed this post all about our anniversary and be sure to check back in a couple of days for a new post!
