I was browsing the Superdrug website a few weeks ago and came across the brand MakeUp Revolution and decided to order some of their bright lipsticks from the Scandalous collection as I'd never seen the brand in any stores near me. The collection has 5 different shades and they all retail for £1 (as do the rest of their lipsticks) so I thought it would be handy to try them out and see if they are good quality or not as they are so cheap. Most of MakeUp Revolution is very cheap, the same sort of prices to MUA so if you love MUA, I'm sure the brands are very comparable.
The colours look absolutely stunning in the packaging and they look like they would all be super bright and opaque but I think the main flaw with these lipsticks is that they are not matte therefore they are not that pigmented. Overall, I'm not that impressed with the quality of these as I think I could only get away with 2/5 of the shades due to the quality of them.
As you can see from the swatches on my lip, only a few of the colours actually look decent which is so annoyed as I had high hopes for these lipsticks. The first two - 'Depraved' and 'Crime' are the only two I could get away with wearing as the rest are extremely sheer and look patchy and disgusting on my lips. Overall, I'm very unimpressed with these lipsticks as the quality could have been better. I understand that they are only £1 but to be fair, a little more money could have went into the formula therefore resulting in them being hyped up more and gaining more popularity. I wouldn't recommend any of these lipsticks as although the first two are okay, I still don't see myself reaching for them on a daily basis. I've tried lipsticks from other brands that were the same price and were amazing quality so maybe it's just this collection but I'll have to try out their other lipsticks for a fair judgement on that.
I hope you enjoyed this post and if you've tried these, do let me know how you feel about them and if you'd recommend anything else by MakeUp Revolution.
Thank you for reading!
