Dying My Hair Orange

I was hesitant to write this post as this time when dying my hair, it never went to plan like it used to.  I've been an avid hair dyer for the last 4/5 years, I've had every colour you could imagine but I've not bleached my hair in over 2 years as I've kept my hair a deep purple colour.  I dyed my hair bright orange around 2 weeks ago and when I did so, half of my hair fell out.  My hair has never fallen out the amount it did when I bleached it this time and I did nothing different so maybe my hair was just sick of being processed.  I thought I'd share how I got my hair to this bright orange colour and share the products I'm using to keep it healthy and repairing it from the bleach.  I did have my hair cut into a bob as so much of it had fallen out but honestly, I'd been wanting to cut my hair for a few months now and have been toying with the idea but as I used to have short hair and have been growing it out for years, I was scared I would regret it but I don't at all!

One Shot Crème Peroxide - Sally's
Dust Free Blue Powder Bleach - Sally's
Crazy Colour in the shade 'Orange' - Ebay (buy here, it's cheaper than in Sally's)
L'oreal Feria Hair Dye in 'Paprika Powder' - Boots

I'm sure you can find videos on youtube of how to bleach your hair but basically I just poured the powder bleach and the peroxide into a bowl I didn't care about until it was a creamy/not too runny but not too stiff consistency then I brushed on using one of these brushes that you can find in Sally's all throughout my hair, starting at the bottom and working my way up, put a plastic bag on my hair once I'd done that then let it process for about half an hour until it was a light blonde/ginger colour.
After I bleached my hair it was pretty damaged and a lot was falling out (more than usual from past experiences) but I dried it and applied the L'oreal permanent hair dye which only took to the roots of my hair so I then followed with the Crazy Colour after I washed that out and let that sit for a few hours.  The colour was not even throughout and I then went to get all the damaged parts cut out which left me with a bob.

This is what my hair currently looks like just now and I'm adding the hair dye into my conditioner every time I was so that I don't lose any colour while washing.

I'm also using some new products to keep my hair healthy such as an oil which I put in my hair when it's wet, a heat protection which I also use when my hair is wet.  I deep condition my hair every time I wash it now and I only wash my hair every 4/5 days so the dry shampoo has come in very handy.  I also use a leave in conditioner which helps as I'm not dragging my brush through my hair when it's knotty therefore minimising the damage.

I can do a post on the hair care products I use if anyone is interested but for now I think I'm just going to leave this post with how I dyed my hair orange.

I hope you enjoyed this post and please lemme know if you have any questions!
Thank you for reading and be sure to check back on Wednesday for a new post.
