On Thursday 21st, it was my boyfriends 18th birthday and we celebrated it over the course of two days. On the Wednesday Luke and I went to Las Iguanas and then went to see Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes as it was the only thing showing at the time we arrived at the cinema. On the thursday, the day of his actual birthday we went into Manchester with his parents to go to Five Guys and visit a few record shops.
Day One
We visited Las Iguanas (my first time, Luke's second) and it was very mixed opinions from us both. The nachos were super yummy but the portion was not a sharing portion (which the waitress said they would be), the cheese on them was good but very little salsa which was annoying. For the main we both got a burrito, Luke got the veggie one which he said was too mushroom-y and I got the chicken one. The burrito's were weird. They were just one filling and lots and lots of kidney beans which I hate. Usually there are other ingredients like rice and veg in burritos which is why I ordered it but if I knew it was gonna be 60% kidney beans then I definitely would not have ordered it. We were both very unimpressed by the burrito so keep that in mind if you do order it! For dessert we both got 6 churros which was more than enough and came in the cutest little pink and white bag that you had to shake up yourself which was the cutest thing. It also came with a dark chocolate sauce and a caramel sauce which was amazing as I don't really like when they only give you a dark chocolate sauce but the caramel sauce really made it. All in all I think we would go back and try it again but if we had the same experience with the mains as this time around then that would probably be it.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was good. I haven't seen the first film but Luke said I didn't really need to which was true as I followed fine. It was CGI central but it was done pretty well, the movie itself was good and it's nothing I regret going to see.
Day Two
I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!
